Living Room Sofa Placement: The Secret to a Harmonious Space
Dieser Post ist von 09. Jun 2016 by Livarea.
As the central piece of furniture in the living room, the sofa significantly defines the room's ambience. When choosing, you should therefore not only pay attention to the quality, colour, and design of the sofa, but also carefully consider which location is suitable for it. When high-quality designer seating is correctly placed in the room, it harmoniously integrates into the overall picture and gives the living room a cosy yet elegant character.
The Sofa – The Heart of Stylish Home Decor
Every living room exudes an individual atmosphere thanks to its basic structure and stylistic design. Above all, the choice of sofa not only significantly determines the room's effect but also the daily life of its occupants. The arrangement of the sofa in the living room also plays a significant role. Today, many different designs are available to find exactly the piece of furniture that meets personal requirements. Whether modern and spacious corner sofas that offer space for all family members, multifunctional sofa beds in a trendy retro look, or classic 2- and 3-seaters in sophisticated designs, the placement of the seating is also crucial to fully enjoy all the advantages of the living area. For many people, sofas with high seating comfort are indispensable for relaxed evenings in front of the television; others want to admire their lovingly maintained garden from a cosy upholstered corner or enjoy the view of the picturesque surroundings – for example, when magnificent mountain landscapes or idyllic forests are nearby.

Depending on the space available in your living room and how windows and doors are arranged, you don't necessarily have to place your sofas against the wall; you can also cleverly position them in the middle of the room for an open living atmosphere. When choosing the location, it's important to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, halogen light, and radiator heat to protect the upholstery of your elegant piece of furniture. If you enjoy winding down your day in front of the television, the following options are available to you:
• Opposite a wall unit and television, directly against the wall
• A model with a low backrest in front of a window
• A seating area placed in the middle of the room
• A corner sofa oriented towards both the window front and the television

However, arranging two sofas opposite each other isn't the only option. In a large living room that also accommodates a dining area, you can create cosy secluded corners with generous upholstered sections behind bookcases, room dividers, or sideboards. For example, if the television is to be placed in the middle of the room, the sofa placement in the living room can be adjusted accordingly to this room divider.
An intelligently chosen sofa placement is at least as important for the overall effect of the living room's decor as selecting a visually appealing model. With a little creativity in positioning your seating, your living room will surprise you with a completely new ambience.
